Job Summary The AME Apprentice position will carry out duties for Red Lake Seaplane Service (2017) Inc. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the servicing, inspecting, repairing and performing of mechanical maintenance to an aircraft, as assigned by the immediate Supervisor. Red Lake Seaplane Service is an approved maintenance organization and maintains a variety of sea (float) planes year-round.

 This position will be responsible and accountable for, but not limited to, the following range of duties: 
Performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircrafts 
Marshaling and towing aircraft 
Maintaining a clean and organized work environment to meet housekeeping standards
Demonstrating knowledge of employee responsibilities regarding safety and actively participating in the companys Safety Management Systems program 
Maintaining customer aircraft by completing tasks as assigned by immediate Supervisor 
Assuming responsibility for the accurate completion of required paperwork with respect to the aircraft at the time 
Reporting any unserviceable/unsafe conditions and equipment to immediate Supervisor 
Assuming responsibility for care of company tools, publications, equipment and materials. Ensuring if a calibrated tool is used, it is within the calibration date on the tool. Reporting any tool that does not have a valid calibration date.
Assuming responsibility to ensure a positive tool control is maintained at all times 
Must be able to work day shifts and overtime, as required 
Must be willing to travel, as required

  Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent (required)
Currently enrolled or completed Transport Canada approved Aircraft Maintenance course (considered an asset but not required) 
Experience with routine aircraft maintenance operations (considered an asset) 
Experience with any type of automotive maintenance/heavy equipment (considered an asset) 
Must possess a valid drivers license 
Must have experience in the handling of WHMIS controlled substances 
Highly flexible, with an ability to work independently • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing 
Able to work well under pressure with a strong attention to detail & time management 
Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically and professionally, at all times 
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
