Summary of the Role: Austin Powder Company is seeking experienced Blasters for our Orillia, Hagersville, and Lanark Ontario locations. As a Blaster you will provide blasting services at customer sites to meet the established customer requirements in support of the location's strategic plan and regulatory compliance.

1. Reviews drill patterns and diagrams. Determines product and blast design necessary to meet customer needs.
2. Communicates blast details with all personnel on the job site and performs duties necessary to prepare and safely detonate the blast.
3. Conducts Pre/Post Blast Safety Audits at every shot service event.
4. Completes necessary event paperwork/shot report documentation as per Austin Powder policy.
5. Complies with customers' policies/procedures, and ensures that the shot crew does the same.
6. Coordinates the handling of all customer issues, blast area incidents, and/or public concerns related to the event with appropriate personnel.
7. Communicates regularly with the Sales Representative and/or Location Manager regarding customer accounts, as required by the Location.
8. Assists in all duties required in the blast area as directed and maintains a safe and healthy work environment.
9. Maintains safe working conditions.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Must be a minimum 21 years of age
- Class G License
- Ontario Surface Miner
- Verifiable blasting experience
- College diploma preferred
- We require a fit person who can handle lifting as necessary
- Involves daily physical labour as well as periodic shop days and duties that are expected from all employees.
- Able to pass security screening (Criminal record check)
- Able to pass post offer pre-employment functional abilities evaluation
- Able to pass pre-employment (post-offer) and random drug screening. Physical Requirements
