Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area (NMCA) is seeking an outgoing and friendly student to join our Visitor Experience Team this summer for the position of Community Outreach Student from May 2019 to August 2019.
Location: Nipigon, ON As a Community Outreach Student, you will support the work of the Visitor Experience and Resource Conservation teams by creating written content related to resource conservation, visitor experience opportunities, outreach and promotion for Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area. This includes, but is not limited to, the creation of social media campaigns, media stories, and promotional material for Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area. You will run the mobile unit approximately once per week providing information and visitor services to the public at various locations across the North Shore. You will also assist with promotion and outreach at community events by interacting with the public and promoting Parks Canada & Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area.
Qualifications:
In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications) Enrolled in full time studies in the fall. Degree equivalency, Enrolled in full time studies in fall 2019;
-Have experience interacting with the public;
-Hold class G driver's license is essential.

To be considered applicants must:
-Be enrolled as a full-time post-secondary student in a recognized institution or enrolled in secondary school in the fall;
-Be returning to full-time studies for your next academic term;
-Meet the minimum age requirement to work in Ontario;
-A valid Class G driver's license is essential;
-Wear a Parks Canada uniform as per the uniform policy and/or dress in period costume as per Parks Canada requirements;
-Work outdoors in varying temperatures and inclement weather.
