Construction Project Supervisor/Manager

Reporting to the General manager, successful candidate will be responsible for acting as the project manager and supervisor for numberous capital projects, most notably a diverse subcontract for construction on Highway 17 just east of White River

Duties:
 Successful candidate will be responsible for:
-lead and manage pre construction tasks including recruitment, procurement of equipment, support in arrangement subcontracts, pre employment training
-ensure all employees are up to date and provide all needed certificates and training to work on site
-employee schedule
-communicate employee site needs for recruitment
-track employee hours and report daily for invoicing and payroll
-provide oversight on all health and safety matters within WLLP policies including morning tailgate meetings
-facilitate team based field level risk assessments as needed
-oversee construction activities and be an active part of the planning , organizing and controls for the project -maintain a safe work environment -other duties as may be required
Qualifications:
 Successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
-valid ontario class G drivers licence (MUST HAVE) and a good driving record
-team lead or supervisory experience
-knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety laws and regulations
-knowledge of MTO highway construction laws and regulations
-a positive attitude and willingness to encourage co workers
-excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
-minimum 5 years general construction experience
-ability to manage a project within specified budgets and time frames
-the ability to set priorities and exercise flexibility where necessary
-understanding of proper safety procedures and recognizing hazards
-basic computer skills and aptitude with communicating electronically
Misc.:
 Work may involve material lifting and moving as well as working in various weather conditions Working hours may be irregular and extended especially during peak construction periods

This position is considered a contract and correlate with individual project duration-estimated start date is March /2020 and completion september/2020, with potential for exensions
