Duties:
 Job Summary: Lead a diamond drilling crew and operate one of our may drilling rigs. This may also could include learning how to operate various types of vehicles, equipment and machinery.
The incumbent will also be responsible for general condition and obtaining optimum life out of all site equipment and tools. You will be responsible for training your team and ensuring safety on site at all times. At Boart, safety always comes first. Also, you will be responsible for the training new Driller Assistants and Driller Helpers in a safe environment.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe workplace and adherence to all EHS&T safety policies and procedures
- Identify and minimize environmental hazards
-Must run on-site operations, implement operational plan and develop work priorities
- Set up and prepare for daily drilling operations
- Conduct drilling activities using sound drilling practices and techniques
-Retrieve quality samples and deliver quality products
-Adhere to customer needs
- Maintain accurate operating records, including daily drill reports and inventory logs
-Provide training to other field employees
-May be required to operate non-drilling equipment such as light or heavy vehicles, cranes, telehandlers, forklift, skidders, track-mounted utility vehicles, etc.
Qualifications:
 - High school diploma or equivalent.
-Valid First Aid Certificate
-Must have registered Ontario Common Core
-Sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills to perform all job-related tasks
- 2+ years of directly related experience.
- Exposure to different drilling environments and techniques is preferred.
-Travel - Must be willing to work away from home and work in remote locations
-Be able and willing to work 10-12 hours a day
