Once you have decided what type of work interests you, NEW can arrange for on the job training placements in an appropriate setting.

Job Trial

A job trial is a two week real workplace experience where you have an opportunity to see what it is like to work in a field of your choosing. Benefits to you include the opportunity to market your skills, energy and ability to an employer, a chance to receive constructive feedback regarding your performance, and best of all you get paid! Think of the Job Trial as a test drive, you can try a job out and if you don't like it, simply try another.

Extended Job

If you complete a job trial and are interested in continuing in that setting, NEW can provide a training incentive to the employer for up to 12 weeks. During this time you continue to work, learn, develop skills and receive a paycheque. We reimburse the employer for their time and efforts in training you. At the end of the arrangement, you are well situated for employment with opportunity to develop a positive work reference (invaluable) and quality material for your resume.
