Reporting to the Environmental Coordinator and with corporate accountability to the VP Operations, the successful candidate will collect samples, monitor water, maintain waste systems, inspect equipment and provide overall support for the environmental team.

Duties:
 The focus of this role will include:
Assist Environmental Scientist with tasks related to water treatment as well as environmental compliance for all site activities
Perform water, groundwater and soil sampling, and hydrology monitoring at local and regional monitoring sites 
Perform wildlife monitoring on a regular basis
Conduct environmental monitoring at construction sites and prepare reports on a regular basis 
Complete paperwork and digital spreadsheets, including field data sheets, and equipment logs for assigned tasks
Perform additional tasks when required including site grounds keeping etc.
Qualifications:
 Skills and Experience: 
High School Diploma
Be physically fit to perform sampling and monitoring duties
Ability to work independently and be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions for extended periods of time
Experience with data management and report preparation 
Computer skills in Microsoft Office
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Detail oriented
Valid drivers license
Bachelors degree or technical diploma in a related environmental field considered an asset
Familiarity with sampling techniques considered an asset 
Knowledge of the local/regional area considered an asset
