-Support Safety Management Systems, providing the leadership necessary to ensure that employees and contractors adhere to Environmental, Sustainability and Human Resources policies and procedures that exceed industry standards and any applicable legislation.
-Providing sound advice, vision and leadership on Labor Relations Standards, Hemlo HR policies, standards and procedures & Barrick Global policies and procedures
-Review, update, prepare and implement all HR policies to ensure they are lawful, consistent, and aligned with broader Barrick organization
-Use external and internal insights, data and trends to identify and help solve key people and business issues
-Lead the design of site HR programs and employee engagement initiatives and ensure they are successfully implemented and understood. Support the corporate direction
-Embed a culture of continuous improvement and effectively manage change within Department
-Continuously improve the Human Resources Management Operating System (MOS) to ensure that clearly defined processes are functional and maintained to manage business requirements, risks and opportunities and is aligned with the site plan Do Check Act cycle
-Lead the site talent management process utilizing Barrick Global Talent Management programs.
-Ensure that site wide training is planned, resourced, coordinated, provided in accordance with the current and future needs of the mine.
-Compliance with regulatory requirements, statutory acts related to the Labour laws for the province of Ontario and Canada
-Guide managers and HR team on problems solving, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance and litigation avoidance
-Communicate and administer the compensation programs to ensure internal equity and compliance with company overall practices
-Support HR technology initiatives to maintain data integrity across global HR systems
 -University degree or post-secondary diploma in either Human Resources, Business
-Minimum of 10 years proven experience in Human Resources; ideally gained across a variety of organizations, with a minimum of 5 years experience at management level
-Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP), or Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation in good standing preferred
-Proficient computer literacy, oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills.
-Well-developed influencing skills, proven ability to relate well to other people in a wide range of contexts and levels; as well as working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
-Outstanding consultative, critical thinking and analytical skills with ability to operate strategically
-Demonstrated capacity to execute plans and hold self and others accountable for their performance and deliverables

The Hemlo property consists of Williams Operating Corporation, an underground and open pit mine, located approximately 350 kilometers east of Thunder Bay, Ontario. Position Description: Reporting to the General Manager, the Human Resources Manager will lead the Human Resources Department. In this position, the Manager will develop and execute the HR processes that foster growth, innovation, and operational effectiveness.
