You will
- establish relationships with youth, aged 12-16, that reflect respect, trust and empathy
- support the successful execution of multi-day wilderness trip experiences, connecting them back to the program outcomes
- encourage camper development at their own pace recognizing their achievements
- respond appropriately when addressing challenging camper behaviours as they arise
- model healthy choices and emotional maturity
- identify, assess and appropriately manage risks and off-site crises in line with risk management standards
- provide mentorship, knowledge and skill transfer to other staff
- be challenged physically and mentally as you live in an overnight camp and wilderness setting for 9 day sessions, with 2 days of break in between
 You are
- at least 18 years old
- pursuing post-secondary education
- experienced at working with youth aged 12 - 16
- experienced at planning and leading wilderness backpacking trips
- strong at group facilitation and successfully adapt facilitation style based on individual or group needs
- equipped with good judgment and decision-making skills; you know when to bring in key team members as it relates to escalated concerns
- fit to participate in multi-day wilderness backpacking trips, and maintain energy and focus to support campers in physical and emotional obstacles
- certified in Wilderness First Responder (WFR), or are willing to obtain
- able to provide an acceptable criminal background check
