Northern Policy Institute (NPI) is seeking one (1) full-time Summer Communications and Events Officer for a 16 week placement with a host organization in Parry Sound. While individuals with particular expertise are most welcome, an interdisciplinary approach and the capacity to work across platforms and functions is expected and required.

The placement will play a central role in coordinating and planning stakeholder engagement activities including speaking tours, events, and other outreach activities. The placement will also develop and implement social media strategies to promote these activities. Strong writing and communication skills are a must.
- Experience with both traditional media and video editing as well as online and social media tools and analytics would be a decided asset.
- The placement will ensure NPI's stakeholder engagements are well publicized, inclusive, representative, recorded and reported on.
- Bilingualism would be an advantage. Multilingualism, or a special knowledge of Northern Ontario would also be assets.
- University or college students with some practical experience are preferred.
