Northern Region of Treaty #3 Territory Mental Wellness Team Position Title: Mental Wellness Team Coordinator Location: Dryden, Ontario Closing Date: September 27, 2019 Term Position: Ending March 31, 2020 (possibility of extension) The Mental Wellness Team (MWT) will provide a range of mental wellness services including direct clinical services, cultural supports and care coordination, address community crisis prevention and early intervention.

 Responsiblities: Coordination to meet the objectives of the Mental Wellness Team which are but is not limited to the following: 
Improve access to mental wellness services and supports and create linkages with new and existing services that are responsive to the needs of the individual client, families and communities:
Coordination of comprehensive, client-centered, culturally appropriate, community-based mental wellness services and programs.
Strengthen partnerships and linkages with community services and second level supports, continuity of care and service coordination.
Increase capacity for emergency responses to social crisis within communities.
 Preference will be given to Candidates with the following qualifications: 
Post-Secondary education in the Social Service Field or in mental health and addictions services. 
Three years minimum of direct work experience in program development, coordination and counselling skills.
Knowledgeable of the issues affecting mental health and substance abuse among First Nations people and ability to incorporate culture specific approaches to healing and programming. Excellent skills in the following areas: computer, organization, networking, interpersonal, presentation, facilitation and communication (written and oral).
Ability to work both cooperatively as a team member and independently
Basic knowledge of community and first nations mental wellness resources and how to access them.
Fluency in Anishinaabe language is an asset.
 The successful candidate must be willing to travel and possess and maintain a valid drivers license and have use of a reliable vehicle.
This position will require travel.
