Paul Hawkins
Paul will tell everyone he meets that his Employment Advisor at Job Connect/Confederation College gave him the "tools for the trade" when he was only looking for a job.
Paul was only a few credits short from completing high school, unemployed and unsure of his future. What he was sure of was his aspirations to become a Carpenter.
Job Connect helped Paul construct a plan for his future. Paul's Employment Advisor arranged a meeting for him with a local employer, encouraged Paul to complete his grade twelve, and helped Paul register as a General Carpentry Apprentice; the rest was up to Paul to work hard.
His journey with Job Connect began in 2006 and he recently completed his Advanced Carpentry Level 3 in March 2010.
