Paul Hawkins will tell everyone he meets
that his Employment Advisor at Job Connect
Confederation College gave him the “tools
for his trade” when he was only looking for a
job. Paul was a few credits short of high school
graduation, unemployed and unsure about his
future. What he was sure of was his aspirations to
become a Carpenter. Job Connect helped Paul
construct a plan for his future. Paul’s Employment
Advisor set up a meeting with a local employer,
encouraged Paul to complete his grade 12,
and helped Paul register as a General Carpentry
Apprentice; the rest was up to Paul to work hard.
Paul’s journey with Job Connect began in 2006
and he will complete his Advanced Carpentry
Level 3 in March 2010, congratulations Paul
and welcome to the Trade.
