Want to make a difference in Northern Ontario? Northern Policy Institute is seeking two (2) full-time Summer Policy Analysts for a 16 week placement with a host organization in Marathon. While analysts with particular expertise are most welcome, an inter-disciplinary approach and the capacity to work across subject areas is expected and required.

The focus of the first placement will be to explore, from an economic perspective, the current state of the digital economy while the second focuses on decentralized government employment and services in Ontarios northern regions. A special effort will be made to assess current and needed infrastructure to support sustainable growth in these sectors.
Solid analytical and writing skills are a must. In addition to descriptive statistics, the placements will be expected to assess and explore potential policy implications and apply comparative evidence to support proposed policy changes, solutions, or directions. University or college students with some practical experience are preferred. Bilingualism would be an advantage. Multilingualism, or a special knowledge of Northern Ontario would also be assets. Only candidates who are currently studying at a post-secondary level and intend to return to school in the fall of 2019 are eligible to apply for these positions.
