Puregold is seeking a Underground Mining Manager for the Madsen Red Lake Mine. Pure Talent. Reporting to the Mine general manager and with corporate accountability to the VP operations, the successful candidate plans, administers and reviews the production activities of the underground mining operation to live the safety culture, optimize resource use, minimize costs and maintain quality standards. The underground mining manager will inspire the mining team to create a safe, motivated and productive environment which leads to innovative continuous improvement.

Duties:
 - Ensures underground mining activities are conducted in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Ontario) and Regulations and environmental standards
- Complies with all safety requirements and observes all company policies and procedures
- Assists with the development of production targets and ensures production targets are met or exceeded
- Develops schedules, budget and LOM and ensures these are controlled and managed effectively
-Monitors production results on a progressive basis and prepares monthly progress and variance reports
- Maintains effective working relationships with Contractors, Suppliers, and Service Providers, and ensures adherence to contractual requirements
- Develops a sense of continuous improvement and ensures appropriate training programs are in place to meet safety and productions requirements
-Maintains knowledge of current statutory requirements and industry best practices and ensures compliance at all times
-Inter phases with other managers and superintendents as part of the management team
- Reviews mining methods and implements optimisation programs where appropriate
- Manages manpower levels to achieve planned results
- Manages the U/G mining team and develops goals and objectives for direct reports and monitors and assesses their performance
-Other duties as may be required
Qualifications:
 - A minimum of 15 years experience of operational/management experience of which at least 10 should be in underground operations
- Strong leadership and team building skills to develop and maintain positive working relationships with a diverse workforce
- Instills a "team" approach in working with other operating/ corporate departments
- Good problem solving and decision making skills as well as superior written and oral communication skills
- Cold climate experience is preferable
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, analytical and problem solving skills
- Mine rescue experience required
