Duties:
Currently, SKF Reliability Services and Solutions is seeking a Condition Monitoring Field Specialist to work at our customer site, which is located in Thunder Bay, ON.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collects vibration data on rotating equipment, on site, and analyses data to assess equipment condition
  • Work Closely with plant staff at all level to provide insight in equipment condition and corrective actions
  • Prepares reports/work requests, priority reports and Pareto charts for customer
  • Perform related activities such as balancing, alignment, thermography, installing remote sensors, acceptance testing etc.
  • Support bearing mounting/dismounting on plant shutdown ensuring good practices
  • Participate in Bearing Root Cause Failure Analysis
  • Installs and troubleshoots Condition Monitoring system issues (portable or online)
  • Provide support on SKF products and vibration analysis to customers
  • Seek assistance and advice of his co-worker to refine his diagnostics and proposed corrective actions when required
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by management
Qualifications:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Post-secondary education in Mechanical Technology / Millwright / Reliability / Maintenance with a minimum of 2 years work related experience or equivalent.
  • Proficient computers skills including Office and ability to learn specialized program
  • Good analytical, troubleshooting, problem solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal with the all levels of staff, as well as with customers to provide technical support.
  • Demonstrated mechanical ability

PREFERRED:

  • Experience in vibration analysis of machines
  • Engineering Degree
  • Experience in Thermography
  • Level 2 CMVA certified or commit to the certification within a 6-9 months period
