EDUCATION:
A secondary school diploma (or PSC-approved equivalent) OR an acceptable combination of education, training and experience related to the position. **Preference may be given to candidates who have successfully completed post-secondary training in a finance or administrative related field (bookkeeping, accounting, business administration, commerce, etc) 
Degree equivalency
EXPERIENCE: .
-Experience in dealing with the public, both by telephone and in person; 
-Experience providing a variety of general administrative services including three or more of the following: document preparation; conference and meeting arrangements; recording meeting minutes; maintaining, creating and managing files; managing the flow of and drafting correspondence; maintaining databases; and procurement; .
**Recent experience working with Microsoft Office suite software (including Excel and Microsoft Word).
**Recent-minimum of 6 months within the last 24 months. 
The following will be applied / assessed at a later date (essential for the job) Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB) Information on language requirements KNOWLEDGE:
-Knowledge of general office administration practices and procedures;
-Knowledge of financial reporting and general cash control procedures;
-Knowledge of Parks Canada and its mandate;
-Knowledge of mail and courier services;
-Knowledge of information and records management procedures and practices.
ABILITIES:
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
-Ability to use software programs to produce documents (such as MS Office);
-Ability to prioritize workload, maintain schedules and meet deadlines;
-Ability to interpret directives and guidelines related to travel, hospitality, information management and contracts.

Conditions of employment
-Possess a valid class G driver's license;
-Obtain and maintain reliability clearance;
-Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform;
-Willingness to travel and work in various locations and in adverse weather conditions;
-Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends, statutory, provincial/territorial holidays, when required;
-When position is located in area classed as isolated and remote, a pre-employment medical examination of an individual and his/her dependants may be required.
