Duties:
 
  • Establishing recruiting requirements by studying organization plans and objectives; meeting with managers to discuss needs
  • Update and maintain job descriptions
  • Attracts applicants by placing job advertisements, monitoring results, filtering candidates, and communicating with the hiring manager
  • Schedule interviews
  • Determines applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; verifying references; comparing qualifications to job requirements
  • Improves organization attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices; monitoring job offers and competitive compensation practices
  • Welcome new employees to the organization by conducting orientation
  • Work with Marketing to leverage our social media presence for recruitment purposes
  • Assist with HR Reporting requirements
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation
  • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately
  • Provides clerical support to the HR department
  • May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks
  • Aid with the enrollment/termination of employees in programs such as: benefits, pension, and other third-party programs.
  • Performing other HR related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
 
  • Degree or diploma in Human Resources or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in a Federally Legislated environment is an asset
  • Previous aviation experience is an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
  • Willingness to travel
