The Nawiinginokiima Forest Management Corporation (NFMC) is a Crown Agency established in 2012 and the Sustainable Forest License (SFL) holder for the Pic and White River forests in northern Ontario. The NFMC
is responsible for supervising all harvest, renewal, and compliance reporting activities on the Pic and White River forests.

Duties:
 

Duties for this position include:
• Assist with supervision of: the 2021 tree plant program, conduct renewal area monitoring/reporting,
assist with the aerial herbicide application program, and the mechanical site preparation program;
• Conduct competition and survival assessments, tree plant quality assessments, and free to grow
assessments as directed by the supervisor;
• Utilise a handheld GPS and tablet to transfer, track, and record collected field data;
• Conduct field work in remote and isolated areas;
• Report and document health, safety, and compliance issues to supervisor;
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: SUMMER SILVICULTURAL STUDENT (multiple positions)
Salary Range: $ 773.50 to $ 931.00 / week
Hours of Work: 50 hours per week: 7:00 am to 5:00 pm
Employee may be required to work evenings and weekends
Contract Length: Early May to late August 2021
