Miller Maintenance is currently seeking Winter Plow Operators to operate snow clearing equipment to maintain local roads and highways for safe passage of the general public. The winter maintenance season runs yearly from October until April, weather dependent. At Miller, we offer competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package. At our core, we are our people.   • Safe and efficient operation of spreader, plow wing, combo unit and/or tow plow to perform the clearing of local roads as per the contract requirements
  • Maintain accurate documentation including but not limited to, fuel reports, safety reports and hours of service
  • Maintain/clean equipment and conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs, as required
  • Ability to operate specialized equipment, including loaders and graders would be an asset
  • Familiar with contract performance requirements; understand route map and sand/salt application rate
  • Perform other duties as required and as assigned


  • DZ or AZ license with a clean driver’s abstract
  • Previous experience in winter works operations, considered an asset
  • Available to respond to call-ins within thirty minutes
  • Ability to remain flexible with shift schedules, and extended hours (evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays)
  • Ability to perform manual labour and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Mechanical knowledge, ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment as required
  • Good understanding of MTO standards and MDMC Contract Performance Requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
  • Willingness to work and drive in extreme weather conditions
  • Ability to complete competency-based testing on relevant equipment
