Web & Help Desk Support Specialist
Under the general supervision of the Manager, Information Services, the Web and Help Desk Support Specialist provides first level computer support for TBDSSAB employees.
Provides computer support for employees and clients. Research and solve employee issues using a variety of resources and works with other Information Services personnel in answering client inquiries. Ensures timely and ongoing communication with fellow employees, maintaining a high level of confidentiality and customer service. Installs end user software and hardware as provided by the Manager, Information Services. Ensures system backups are completed successfully. Assists in the design, creation, update and enhancement of all internal and external websites and portals. Participates in keeping manuals, documentation, and asset management databases up to date. Participates in corporate wide and cross function teams as required. Performs other duties as may be required.
- Education/Experience Computer related degree or diploma with a minimum of one (1) year experience in customer service Class G driver's licence
- Skills/Abilities Superior ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Superior ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with other departments, co-workers, and business partners.
- Highly self-motivated and directed.
- Proven problem solving, analytical, and evaluative abilities.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Familiar with SharePoint, Java, WordPress, and PHP.
- Familiar with various Microsoft technologies such as Windows Server, Windows 10, MS Office 365.
- Familiar with various hardware such as desktops, laptops, and peripherals, including networked printers. Knowledge of Microsoft System Center is an asset.
- Industry certifications from CompTIA or Microsoft are considered an asset.
- Must undergo a successful police records check, Type 2.
- Provide proof of any certifications, diplomas, or degrees.
- Must be able to work overtime as required.
- Must be competent within the meaning of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and be capable of clearly understanding written and oral instructions.
- The use of a vehicle may be required.
- Must sign and abide by all company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to the Employee Code of Ethics and Conflict of Interest Policy.
